Cycling, whether for racing or fitness has to be fun!

I've lost track of the number of times that I've seen it in others and I've certainly been there myself over the years.

After all ....this is going to be "your year!" You're up at the ass crack of dawn when it's November and December you're pushing out big wattage number, suffering beyond sufferfest and you're there! You're at peak fitness, problem is it's only January or February. You don't do gravel, fat bike racing or riding so when the first road race or local group ride comes you're right on the edge of catching that guy or girl. That one that is just a touch faster then you. You train harder and longer smash out some more intervals by May you start to hate your bike or the thought of those week day group rides, where you're getting dropped. You're effectively done for the year you just don't know it.


Long and short of it. When it becomes another job to get your training done, squeeze out more watts it's really time to either put the bike away for a minute, just go out and ride see the sights, smell the smells, switch up what type of bike you're riding and enjoy the feel and bring back the fun.
